Child Safety Standards Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-23

This page describes haru's standards for addressing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).

1. Core Principle

haru maintains a zero-tolerance approach to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Sexual content or conduct involving minors is prohibited, and accounts found in violation are permanently banned.

2. Age Requirement

haru is intended for users aged 18 or older (or the age of majority in the user's country of residence) and does not allow use by minors. We verify date of birth at sign-up to block registration by anyone under 18, and accounts suspected of belonging to minors may be restricted.

3. In-App Reporting Procedure

Inappropriate behavior by other users, or profiles suspected of belonging to minors, can be reported and blocked through the following paths:

4. Response to CSAM

When Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), or sexual exploitation or grooming targeting a child, is found or reported, we respond as follows:

  1. Immediate removal and account ban: The content is removed immediately and the associated account is permanently banned.
  2. Evidence preservation: We preserve relevant material to the extent necessary for reporting to law enforcement.
  3. Reporting to authorities: We report to law enforcement in the user's country of residence (e.g., the Korean National Police Agency and the Korea Communications Standards Commission, Japanese police), and, depending on the case, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline as an international reporting channel.
  4. Recurrence prevention: We take measures to prevent the same user from re-registering or re-offending.

5. Legal Compliance and Cooperation with Authorities

haru complies with applicable child safety laws and cooperates with lawful requests from the relevant authorities.
